In Pilar, Olivier Duhamel offers a quiet, contemplative portrait of stillness. Seated with legs folded and hands gently clasped around her feet, the figure leans softly forward, her head bowed as a loose strand of hair falls toward her face. The pose is intimate and unguarded—less a gesture of withdrawal than one of introspection, as though she is absorbed in a moment of private thought.

Duhamel’s modelling is tender and precise: the subtle curvature of the back, the relaxed fall of the shoulders, and the delicately rendered hands all contribute to a sense of calm presence. Light glides across the bronze surface, emphasising both the softness of the body and the sculpture’s harmonious, circular composition.

Pilar exemplifies Duhamel’s ability to convey emotional nuance through form. There is a quiet poetry in the downward gaze, a sense of solitude that feels peaceful rather than melancholic. Compact in scale yet rich in expression, the work invites viewers into a contemplative space—an intimate encounter with serenity, vulnerability, and the beauty of a moment held gently in time.

Other series exists at different scale, material and colours.
